Writer's Block: A Posthumous Oscar for Joker?

Do you think Heath Ledger deserves the Oscar for his role in the Dark Knight?

I would definitely say he deserves to win for Best Supporting Actor (which is what I assume he'd be nominated for? He had a ton of screentime, but Bale was the lead ultimately). It's an incredibly well crafted performance and Ledger's take on the Joker is, for my money, the best incarnation of the character and will go down as one of the greatest movie villians of all time.

But then again, maybe Daniel Day-Lewis will get jealous and blow us all away by playing a talking bear. Oscars are too far away to really tell how it'll go.
